Design Hope Toronto annual event at Gallery 1313, Friday, February 16, 2007

Design Hope Toronto outdid itself in 2007. The art auction and gala raised over $10,000 with the proceeds going again to Dixon Hall's much deserving Homeless, Hostels and Housing program.

This year's event was a family affair, as in attendance were members of our parent group, Design Hope Hamilton, and our beneficiary, Dixon Hall. Their presence lent much personal support to an already encouraging evening.

Talented CBC National Radio news host Marcia Williams emceed while the ever charming Bill Kime of Waddington's reprised his role as the night's auctioneer.

Design Hope Toronto is making a serious name for itself by combining two very important aspects of human life - art and community. What better way to bring people together than by showcasing local artwork and donating the proceeds from their sales to vital homeless initiatives within our city.

The glue is, of course, all the wonderful people who show their appreciation for both art and a good cause by coming out to bid.

The evening could not have been possible without the aid of our sponsors. Along with our gracious event donors, Mildred Pierce provided superb food while Exclusive Affair Rentals Ltd. helped equip us for the second year in a row.

Great things are already in the works for next year's event, so be sure to stay up-to-date for 2008.
