About the Work
In a recent trip to India I was witness to a chronic presence of people without shelter. Coming back to Canada I am crushed to see similar dynamics of lack of shelter in my own country. My piece explores the concept of disparity. The hazy background contrasted with an intense focus on gold sheet paper in the foreground represents the presence of our society's strife for material gain amongst people in dire need.
About the Artist
Kirstin Bojanowski is a self-taught abstract artist who seeks to explore concepts of raw interpretation using elements of texture, movement and colour. Viewers of her work often unleash their own imagination, visualizing people, places, or things in each painting. It is the 'playground of the mind' that Kirstin embraces as she helps others tap into their own creative outlets. Today she sells her work avidly on her website and teaches workshops in her community.
