Downward Spiral
kiln cast glass; 11.5 " x 4" x 4"
About the Work
The glass egg carton in Downward Spiral makes reference to the fragile nature of shelter and security. The visual spiral within the piece suggests that the path to becoming homeless can start from one unfortunate event that can negatively spiral out of control.
About the Artist
Steve Tippin was first introduced to glass as a furniture student at Sheridan College and has not thought of furniture since. He is currently finishing his final year at Sheridan College. He uses kiln formed glass and cold glass techniques to attempt to change the way light and surfaces are seen.
