kilncast glass framed for hanging

About the Work

I continue to explore glass, as well as other art forms and look forward to subject specific and collaborative projects.

This work has been created specifically for Design Hope. This glass vessel is kilncast, fused and slumped. It is titled Community in the hope that the community at large will find importance in the tragedy of homelessness and work towards ending it.

About the Artist

Jayne Nixon has worked in glass, in various forms for 18 years. She first began at a stained glass studio in eastern Ontario. Moving to Winnipeg, she explored other glass processes such as fusing, painting, sandblasting, glassblowing and her real passion, cast glass.

She has joyfully participated in many educational opportunities in Winnipeg, Toronto and Red Deer. Her work has been extensively exhibited locally and purchased by collectors globally.
